If you are choosing between the 2000X and 5000X, the 2000X is the better value, and as many have said, the sound is going to be the same. I much prefer the Sansui to the Denon 100w integrated that it replaced. Sansui remedied this by changing the board in later production runs. Here we have the Sansui 5000x receiver. As @SaturationPt mentioned, it is a nice sounding, warm and very musical receiver. I owned a 8080 and it was also excellent. The Sansui is very nicely styled, I've repaired a number of them and considered them very solid performers. I believe the original Sansui 5000 was introduced in 1967 followed thereafter by the Sansui 5000a in 1969 and then the Sansui 5000x in 1971.
